Musical Moments was born from our founder Beckie’s own personal experience with dementia; her Nana was living with dementia at the time and she discovered the amazing effect music had on her communication, happiness and general well-being. 

The organisation is now in the capable hands of our Managing Director Maggie who started her Musical Moments journey as a Franchisee. We now have a team of franchisees across the UK and have a great demand for the service. Every element of the company and the brand has been hand-crafted by our small but passionate team, making our core values personal, ethical and honest.

Established in 2011, we know that our format at Musical Moments is a proven and successful model: we currently have a number franchisees and several staff members.

We are frequently contacted by care homes across the UK for our services, but unfortunately due to the nature of the work, locality is essential. this is why we operate our franchise model and Musical Moments needs you

We’ve spent the last five years constructing and perfecting a business model that we want to be able to replicate so we are able to provide more music to those who need it most across the UK and fulfil the demand we currently have. 


I joined Musical Moments in October 2018 because I wanted a job that was going to be flexible where I could be my own boss, but have support when I needed it. Musical Moments has been a very positive experience for me because the team are always on hand if I need advice or support and it is really friendly too! I have so much fun I forget it's a job at all!

How we'll support you

Personal development support - Operational support for franchisees can be given at any time  in the working week. Flexibility is a key word in our business. Most of our network is run online; we have a great staff online community where we share practise discussions, tutorial videos and new activity ideas.  

Business practice support - We are constantly updating our material so that we are delivering fresh and appropriate sessions and content. You won’t need to plan your sessions, we’ve already done it all for you and all sessions can be found in our activity guide. We’ll also make sure that you’re trained and confident to deliver your music sessions.

Online and marketing support - We’ve got a strong marketing team on board, and in-house social media and artwork team that keep our social media pages strong and connected with our target audiences every single day. With a 100% response rate on our Facebook page, we also have a collective number of over 5,000 followers across our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. 

Industry support - Our team at Musical Moments HQ have had years of experience in the care home activity industry, and will be able to answer any type of question or query that you have with confidence and success. 

Financial Support - Our clear and concise financial model that will enable you to see how your business will operate financially and we shall advise with any funding that you may need. 

Our franchise model is currently £3,999 and includes no hidden extras or costs. we will be taking applications for franchisees to start in 2022. We also generously offer the option of paying a deposit with an interest-free loan.

We take a 10% support fee each month, 3% of that is invested back into the business towards advertising and marketing, so we give back to our franchisees and our community.

The perfect Musical Moments franchisee is friendly, energetic and passionate about music and working with other people.  We need musical people to join our network – how you want to grow your business is up to you. Maybe you want a financially and emotionally rewarding part-time career that fits around your family life? Or perhaps you want to grow your business and take on your own staff? Either are possible and sustainable with our flexible business model.

To have an excellent level of musicality or musical background, either a competent singer or instrumentalist that can play a portable instrument such as violin, guitar, flute or clarinet. You need to be comfortable leading singing activities in front of a group

You’ll need access to your own car, you’ll need to take a large box of equipment around with you to your sessions and to travel distances of up to 15 miles, so your own transport is essential to the role

If you like public speaking and working with large groups – this is also the career for you.

You will also be working with vulnerable people, so empathy and understanding is a key trait

Your availability needs to be late mornings and early afternoons in the week

You could be delivering up to 3 sessions per day if you want to make your Musical Moments career a full-time job
